Samoan Sua ocean Trench

Sua Ocean Trench Samoa

The village of Lotofaga in Upolu is home to the unique To-Sua Giant Swimming Hole, a 30-meter deep natural wonder. Accessible via a long ladder, the pool is surrounded by beautiful native gardens and offers a spectacular view, making it an ideal spot for weddings and photoshoots.

Skilled divers can explore the cave leading to the open sea. Opposite the pool, visitors can find Fagaoneone beach and a lava field with blowholes and mini pools, perfect for fishing. Whale sightings are also possible from mid-September to November.

To Sua Ocean Trench

The Sua Ocean Trench is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Samoa, and it’s not hard to see why. As you descend the steep ladder into the trench, you’ll feel like you’re entering another world. The water is incredibly clear and so deep that it appears almost black, creating a dramatic contrast against the bright green foliage that surrounds the pool. Once you reach the bottom, you can explore the underwater caves and crevices, or simply relax and take in the beauty of your surroundings.

For those seeking an adrenaline rush, there’s even a small platform where you can jump into the water from a height of around five meters. If you’re feeling brave enough to take the plunge, you’ll experience an exhilarating rush as you freefall into the deep waters below.

After your swim, you can dry off and relax on the pristine white sand beach that surrounds the trench, or explore the nearby village of Lotofaga, which is known for its vibrant culture and friendly locals. You can sample traditional Samoan cuisine, browse local handicrafts, and learn about the rich history and traditions of this fascinating island nation.

Visiting the Sua Ocean Trench is an experience you’ll never forget, and it’s no wonder that it has become a must-see destination for travelers to Samoa. Whether you’re seeking adventure, relaxation, or simply a chance to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of this stunning island paradise, a visit to the Sua Ocean Trench is an absolute must.
